By the way, the Crusader entered the desert and went into service.
I don't know of any problems with 'clogged engines', but then this was sixty-odd years ago and they didn't have 'quality control' or MilSpecs in those days.
So it probably worked just fine straight from the factory.
If any genuine veteran knows better, please let me know.
