What did this man think he was doing? He built a building for the public;privately!
And he set up his own management, via an endowment.
Then he actually put his name on it for all time!
People are still using that building over 100 years later.
It should have been demolished along with the entire neighbourhood when the motorway was built.
But the estate was endowed to the public,so the expropriation could not have been done quietly.
Or so it looks.
But the point is, the man had the infernal cheek to give his name permanence, and nobody stopped him!
The infernal outrage!
Citizens, this is nothing less than the cult of personality. And our blessed leader does not tolerate these.
Why, on another part of the building, even the architect has carved his name, and he is nothing more than the servant of the people!
But seriously folks, in 1945 the Labour Party said "We are the masters now."
In 1977 they defined Patent Law as it stands, except for the modifications they introduced in 2001.
I know of no invention in Britain since the 1970's that made the slightest bit of difference to the world.
And the Party thought it was throwing big business a bone by crushing intellectual dissent.
